Quick closet Cleanup
When I told my friends I read a book on tidying, they looked at me with a look of astonishment.  Not because I read a book on tidying (because I’m an organizing freak), but that a book like this actually existed.

This isn’t just any book.  It’s a #1 New York Times Best Seller with over 6 million copies sold.
“Don’t people know how to clean?” was their reaction.
“It’s not about cleaning,” I had to clarify.

It’s about decluttering your home.  The general assumption is that tidying comes natural to people. But that is simply not true and in fact is learned. And it’s nearly impossible to keep your house tidy if you have clutter.  And clutter, stuff and storage is a huge problem for us Americans.  In fact, 1 out of every 10 Americans rent offsite storage—the fastest growing segment of the commercial real estate industry over the past four decades. We have bigger homes and more stuff and more clutter.  Yet, we’re still not happier. Because it’s hard to clear up our psychological space when everything around us is messy.

In her book, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” Marie Kondo has created a system for tidying and a specific order of how you should start your tidying process.  She recommends that you first start with your closet.
I couldn’t agree more with her.  In fact, having a tidy closet – that aligns with your personal style, life style and body type makes getting dressed so much easier! It doesn’t only cut back on your morning “getting dressed” routine but it makes getting dressed for every occasion so much more pleasurable.

Gather up the strength you have within, get in there there and “GET RID OF IT”.  First, go around your house and gather up ALL your clothing (think hall closets, laundry, gym bags, etc).  Put all your clothes in categories such as tops, pants, skirts, and dresses.  Get rid of anything that has…

1. Rips or Stains

2. Doesn’t fit right

3. Not Comfortable

4. Anything with Tags on it

5. Bad Memories

6. Out of Style

Cleaning out your closet it’s just the first step to create a wardrobe you love.

As the founder and designer of an Inc. 5000 fastest growing companies I’ve been teaching women how to style with accessories for over 10 years. However, peeling back the layers, I find many women overwhelmed with too many fashion options, too many haphazard shopping sprees, and overfilled closets with nothing to wear. I want to help and I know how. I’ve discovered that most women struggle with one of the three core problems:

  • They don’t know where to start or
  • Find it hard to keep up with your changing body and fashion trends or
  • Don’t carve out the time to get started

I really wanted to help. Especially because I know from a design perspective that everything in fashion has to be fast, new, unique with a tempting prices in order for it to be successful. Constant ads on what to wear, how to wear it, buy it now, fast or you’ll be left behind.

From my personal journey in juggling fashion, a career and family I know the little time you have and on top of it you want to look good. With the right strategy – the looking good part can be easy.

So I want to show you just how easy making an exceptional first impression can be – starting with creating a wardrobe you love. I’ve used this formula to design every collection for many brands and its the same formula stylists use during their consultation sessions. You can soon have a clear, action-oriented and affordable roadmap to your own signature style and wardrobe you love.
